Sunday’s Sermon: Bigger Walls or Longer Tables, Revisited: The Bible’s View on Welcoming Immigrants – Rev. Mary Sue Evers
Welcome to worship at Cedar Hills United Church of Christ! We are a proudly progressive congregation of the United Church of Christ, rooted in God’s love, mercy and justice. Our pastor opens every service saying “No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.” We celebrate our diversity in spiritual background, sexual orientation, race, and abilities. We are grandparents, middle-agers, single folks, couples, teens and toddlers, in every size, shape and color.
We hope you will find, as we have, music that is inspiring, sermons that are relevant, and community that is genuinely welcoming.
We all join together for refreshments after the service (including really good fair-trade coffee) – a great opportunity to mix and mingle and experience community fellowship. Children love our nature-friendly playground.
We share communion the first Sunday of each month. We keep an open table, as did Jesus, where everyone who seeks to celebrate God’s presence is welcome. Our youth participate in these monthly services.
We offer a spiritual home where together we experience the divine, explore our faith, practice spirituality, discover inclusive community, and serve the world.
What should I wear? We’re a typical Portland crowd – you’ll see folks in flip-flops and shorts, a few in a suit and tie. Be comfortable!
Where do I find you? We’re located at 11695 SW Park Way Portland, OR, 97225 at the corner of Park Way and Cedar Hills Blvd.
Services are Sundays at 10:00 am.
We’re a busy place – want to get involved?
