Join us! We offer regular education, spiritual nurture, and opportunities for worship and service children and youth of the church.
On Sunday mornings during the school, year co-leaders Reverend JJ Crow and Amy Norden, along with volunteer Sunday School Teachers have fun with kids!:
10:00-10:15 All children and youth begin the morning in the worship service in the sanctuary.
10:15–11:00 On 1st Sundays Pre-school – fifth grade children gather together for “Godly Play. Middle and High School students remain in worship. At the end of the service all children return to the sanctuary to participate in the communion service with the whole community.
10:15 – 11:00 On 2nd – 4th Sundays all children and youth attend Sunday School.
Children are invited at various times throughout the school year to join together to serve at the Oregon Food Bank, pick vegetables from our own hunger garden, take Christmas Carols to those who cannot get out as often as they’d like, and participate in the annual Christmas Pageant and Palm Sunday Procession.
Middle and High School youth of the church are invited to participate in a full calendar of youth group events as well as a 7th – 9th grade confirmation class. Some evenings we gather to talk, sing, laugh, eat and pray.
Some evenings we venture off-site for adventures in fun (ice skating, visits to a trampoline gym, the Sauvie Island haunted corn maze, bowling…..)
There are also youth group adventures in service (Faith Cafe, St. Stephen’s Breakfast, Oregon Food Bank, Night Strike….)
The senior high youth group also works throughout the year to raise funds for a week of service/mission. Past mission trips have taken us to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, the Yakama Christian Mission in White Swan, Washington, Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Mississippi, Amor Ministries in Rosarito Beach Mexico and Amor Ministries on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, Arizona.
