Each year, PORTLAND OPERA’s very own Portland Opera To Go (POGO) travels to schools and community venues throughout Oregon and SW Washington, presenting a fully-staged, 50-minute English-language adaptation of a famous opera… performed in full costume by professional opera singers.

Cedar Hills UCC is again pleased to host POGO and this year’s charming, bi-lingual performance of Rossini’s comic opera, The Barber of Seville.

This beautiful and entertaining production is fun for all ages, and features music familiar to almost everyone.  It tells the story of Rosina, whose Uncle Bartolo who has plans to marry her off to one of his rich, elderly friends.

But Rosina is in love with the handsome chavo she saw in the plaza – and she knows he likes her too.  They just have a slight problem:  She speaks only Spanish, and he speaks only English.  What will they do??

Enter the brilliant, bilingual Figaro… a barber from Seville!
