Education Hour for Adults and Children: Sundays after Worship

"No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."

We are a progressive, open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, rooted in God's love, mercy and justice.

We are a community of growing families, couples and singles, kids and teens, young adults, mid-lifers  and grandparents... and we celebrate our diversity of spiritual background, sexual orientation, race and abilities.

Join us for worship and celebration in person on Sundays, via livestream on our YouTube channel, and on Wednesday evenings, when we share a brief Vespers service on Facebook.

We look forward to meeting you!  No matter how you join us, we hope you will find music that is inspiring, sermons that are relevant, and a community that is genuinely welcoming.

Welcome to CHUCC!  We're glad you are here.

Cedar Hills UCC's tradition of providing holiday gifts for Mary Mac House and William Walker Elementary School families continues.

This year, we are supporting 8 families for a total of 50 people, mostly children.  Gift cards (Target and WinCo) will be purchased with funds pooled from all of us.

CALL TO WORSHIP

December 10th

Second Week of Advent

First, we light the candle of the Prophets: people who courageously draw close to God and then relay how they see God working show us all how to be more faithful witnesses.

Today we add the candle of the Holy Family. Mother Mary and Father Joseph protected the infant Jesus.

Mother Mary and Father Joseph nurtured the child Jesus.  Jesus grew up in the middle of the Ordinary but grew up to become something much more than ordinary.

Since we are all called Children of God we enter into the Christmas story along with them.

All of us need safety and then nurturing to participate in the peace and love that defines our broader family.

Something ordinary becomes quite extraordinary!
