MUSIC DIRECTOR’S NOTE 
The CHUCC 2020 Music Giving Guide... “A season of supporting, sustaining, and singing on!”

As you all know, this season has hit everyone that is vulnerable and has shown a lot of our already laid bare priorities. This season being now, the holiday one usually full of music and company- but this season of incredible patience and grit during a once a century pandemic.
The arts, already an unstable and precarious business, have especially suffered when it has come to live art, local art, musical theater, opera and choir.
Personally, I watched my own contracts and full calendar get decimated the same way I watched all my loved ones and colleagues in the community reel from this pandemic financially as well as existentially.
I am so proud and thrilled that this community and church picked up some slack and made it a mission during this time to help the artists as much as we can, and provided a platform for these artists to get %100 of proceeds from our recital series events. While monetarily helping, we are also expanding their audience and mission partnering with this series. While also providing them with thousands more views, and 2-5x more money at the end of the gig, we provide a product in form of a recording that then can be used for publicity and donations after the fact.
ON AVERAGE- our recital series had over a 1000 viewers/audience members per concert, and $600-1200 in profit per person! We will continue to hold recital series, as they mean so much more now than ever before.
From here on out, we will always record them and provide a livestream available because it truly has expanded our church’s mission, and expanded its reach in ability to touch hearts and minds that are wanting to help from afar.
