Pastor's Welcome

And welcome to Cedar Hills United Church of Christ.

We are a proudly progressive, open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, rooted in God's love, mercy and justice.  Every service opens with the saying "No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

We celebrate our diversity in spiritual background, sexual orientation, race, and abilities. You will find, I hope, music that is inspiring, sermons that are relevant, and community that is genuinely welcoming.

We worship at 9:30 am on Sundays (both in-person, and via livestream on our YouTube channel).   Afterwards, we join together for refreshments or enrichment activities - and if you attended virtually - we are also experimenting with an informal Zoom coffee hour.

We share communion the first Sunday of each month. On these special Sundays, we keep an open table, as did Jesus, where everyone who seeks to celebrate God's presence is welcome. Our youth often help lead those monthly services.

On Communion Sundays, we hold Coffee Hour after worship.  Depending on the monthly calendar, we may just gather for coffee and refreshments - but we may also include a special congregational activity or event, such as our Easter Sunday Brunch.  It's a great opportunity to mix and mingle, experience community and get to know more about us.

On the remaining Sundays, both adults and children are invited to break into smaller groups for Education Hour.   Adult offerings change monthly, while children and youth leave for Sunday School/Godly Play and Youth Group.  Our talented team of Youth and Family Educators is ready to welcome your child.

Children love our nature-friendly playground, where they often have play dates with church friends.  (And we have lots of fantastic kids in this congregation!)

We offer a spiritual home at Cedar Hills United Church of Christ, where together we experience the divine, explore our faith, practice spirituality, discover inclusive community, and serve the world.

God Bless!
